Threshold Singers is seeking new members

The Threshold Singers are looking for new members from Ozaukee and Washington counties interested in helping comfort people facing the end of their life.

The Ozaukee and Washington county group has teamed up with Horizon Home Care and Hospice to sing to clients at Lawlice Hospice in Mequon and Kathy Hospice in West Bend.

The Threshold Singers are dedicated to singing at the bedside of those who are seriously ill or near the end of their life as a means of providing comfort.

The group sings a variety of music, including a number of pieces written by Threshold Singers members.

The music director is Randy Hilgers, director of music and liturgy at St. Joseph Church in Grafton, who was prompted to join the group after his mother died.

Rehearsals, which are held at the Grafton Senior Center on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, focus on learning core songs, and training in death and dying, and the practice of bedside singing in groups of three to five people.

The senior center is at 1665 Seventh Ave.

Anyone interested in joining the group is asked to contact Jeanne Linnemanstons at jeannelinn@gmail.com.

For more information about the national Threshold Singers Choir is asked to visit www.thresholdchoir.org.
