Thomas DeBroux

Thomas DeBroux of Port Washington, a beloved father, grandfather and special friend, passed away in the evening hours of Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was 64 years old.  

Tom was born in Port Washington on Feb. 13, 1961, the son of Jerold and Shirley (nee Reiter) DeBroux.  

He grew up in Port Washington and was a proud graduate of Port Washington High School, Class of 1979. 

On Sept.4, 1982, he married Geralyn Godersky at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington. She preceded him in death in 2014. 

For many years, Tom enjoyed serving his community as a reserve police officer with Port Washington Police Department. He cherished his roots in Port Washington and embraced every opportunity to share his enthusiasm for life. His love for Wisconsin sports teams was unwavering, and he could often be found cheering for his favorites, radiating joy and spirit. Music also played a significant role in his life. He enjoyed attending concerts and immersing himself in the rhythms and melodies that brought him happiness.

Thomas had a special fondness for Door County, a place where he created cherished memories while exploring its beautiful landscapes and vibrant culture. His adventurous spirit and kind-hearted nature touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. 

Tom had a kind heart and embraced the role of caregiver for his friends and family. He provided unwavering comfort and kindness to his wife and father in their final days and helped with his daughter’s cancer treatment and recovery. 

Tom is survived by his two children, Jennifer and Andrew DeBroux, his granddaughter Azalee, his fiancee Julie Leiviska and her children Rebeca (Tyler) Shepherd, Anne (the late Bob) Burger, Alexandrea Leiviska and Donny Leiviska and Julie’s granddaughters Ellie and Layla. He is further survived by his brothers Daniel, Dean (Amy) and David (Lynn) DeBroux, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents Jerold and Shirley and his wife Geralyn.

A celebration of life for Tom is planned for Jan. 17, 2026, at Engine Room 102, 102 E. Pier St., Port Washington. The family will greet friends and relatives from 5 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family or the charity of donor’s choice are appreciated.
