Thomas Consolo

Thomas Peter Consolo passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023, following a brief illness while at home surrounded by his loving family by his side.

He was born April 2, 1939, in New Haven, Conn., to the late John and Alba (Frattini) Consolo.

After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. While stationed at White Sands Missile Base, N.M., he met Suzanne Margaret Weyker. He wed the love of his life and his best friend on Aug. 2, 1963.

Suzanne preceded him in death on March 15, 2019.

He had a long career at Jadair International Inc. in Port Washington.

He was proud to be a U.S. Army veteran and served many years in the U.S. Army Reserve.

After his retirement, he moved to Sturgeon Bay, Wis., and then spent the last 25 years living in Appleton, Wis.

He is survived by his children Mary Zito, Bob Consolo and Tina Vollmer; his six grandchildren, Katie Keil (Craig), Brooke Consolo, Alicia Anderson, Becky Hanson, Tom Allen and John Allen; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and countless close friends.

He will be remembered as a compassionate, genuine and kind person with a big heart who loved his family and friends and greeted everyone he met with a big smile. He touched so many lives and will be forever remembered for his generosity and kindness to others. Tom enjoyed life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law Gregory and Elsie (Binsfeld) Weyker, sister Mary Consolo Hennessey, brother Anthony Consolo, brother-in-law Gregory Weyker, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other relatives.

  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff (Jesse, Jean, Tiffany and Brittany) at Apple Creek Place for the empathy, care and compassion they showed Tom and his family.

  Private graveside services for Tom and Suzanne will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton.
