Telling the story of the Covid-19 quarantine with quilts

The Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts in Cedarburg invited quilters from around the globe to participate in its Quarantine Quilt exhibit, creating blocks that reflected their life under quarantine and the world during a pandemic. The museum received more than 300 quilt blocks by mid-June. Executive Director Melissa Wraalstad (top photo) stood before a quilt assembled and sewn by Linda Marcus that resembled a face mask. A breadth of feeling was shown in a square the museum received from a New Jersey quilter (lower left photo). A cultural art class at Cedarburg High School created a quilt of 16 blocks (lower right photo). An exhibit of the quilts runs through Sunday, Nov. 15, at the museum, N50 W5050 Portland. Rd., Cedarburg.
