Talk to discuss climate, impact on gardening
A program on gardening for a changing climate will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23, by the Ozaukee Master Gardeners.
Assistant State Climatologist Bridgette Mason will present the program at the Mequon Nature Preserve.
Mason will discuss what’s changing in terms of climate and how it affects the growing season. Using research-based science, Mason has observed significant trends of warmer temperatures, changing precipitation patterns and longer growing seasons.
Her presentation will offer gardeners guidance in navigating changes in the plant hardiness zones, chill hours and heat and drought stress.
Registration is suggested by visiting www.ozaukeemastergardeners.org.
The Mequon Nature Preserve is at 8200 W. County Line Rd.
