Taco Guy to help raise funds for food pantry

A joint fundraiser by Parkside United Church of Christ and the Saukville Community Food Pantry and its biweekly community meal will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, in the church parking lot.

Money raised will be used to buy a new dishwasher for the church, pantry and meal program.

“We have to replace the dishwasher used for the community meal program run by the pantry. In reality, we are the main users of the dishwasher,” Pantry Executive Director Mark Gierach said.

The fundraiser will feature food served by That Taco Guy food truck, operated by Eli Acosta and which is primarily located in the Cedarburg and Grafton areas.

The dishwasher will cost about $4,200 to purchase and install, Gierach said. The unit is a commercial sanitizer with a built-in water heater, he added.
