Susan ‘Suzie’ Rabus

Mrs. Suzie Rabus of Port Washington passed away surrounded by her loving family in the evening hours of Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.  She was 66 years old.

Suzie was born in Port Washington on Christmas Eve, 1955, the daughter of Tarmo “Tom” and Betty (nee Tapanilla) Salli.

She grew up in the Newburg area and attended Ozaukee High School, graduating with the Class of 1974.

On April 9, 1977, she married Walter Rabus at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Saukville.

As a young woman, Suzie could often be found helping her father with his concrete business and as the head bartender/bar manager at Sir James Pub in Port Washington  until her retirement in 2014. Suzie also was the co-owner of the Brewmeister’s Trading Post in Port Washington.

She enjoyed bowling on the Willie’s Lakefront Lanes team and playing darts at Sir James Pub and passed the love of playing guitar onto her son Jason.

Suzie is survived by her husband Walter and her two sons, Steve (Beth) Rabus and Jason (Lindzy Willborn) Rabus, all of Port Washington.

She is further survived by her two grandchildren, Tommy and Sarah; her five siblings, Terry (Sheila) Salli of San Antonio, Texas, Brenda (Harry) Bernstein of Appleton, Karen Salli of Saukville, Julie (Joseph) Post of Indian Trails, N.C., and Annette (John) Foat of Fredonia; her brother-in-law Jim Kolocek of Port Washington; sister-in-law Mary Lou Rowe; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Betty Salli and her sister Linda Kolocek.

In accordance with Suzie’s wishes, a celebration of her life will take place at Sir James Pub at a later date.
