Storm does minor damage in village

The Village of Belgium escaped Tuesday night’s storm with little damage, Public Works Director and Fire Chief Dan Birenbuam said Wednesday morning.
The only thing that required attention were branches that fell onto power lines on a few-hundred-foot stretch of Highway D west to St. Mary’s Church in Lake Church, he said.
Barricades were put up around 9 p.m. Tuesday to close the road, Birenbaum said. We Energies will handle the issue, he said.
