Stephen E. Samson

Stephen E. Samson, 70, of Cascade, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice after a short but tough battle with prostate cancer.

Stephen was born on Jan. 30, 1953, to Francis and Catherine (Conlin) Samson in Stuttgart, Germany, where Francis was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army.

Stephen was united in marriage to Penny Jesse on Dec. 31, 2009, on a blue moon.

Stephen was employed at Kohler Engines for 23 years as a quality technician.

He loved Formula 1 racing and his trips to Road America. Stephen enjoyed music, playing his guitar and loved his dogs and cats. He was known for his sarcastic sense of humor and telling long stories.

Stephen is survived by his wife Penny, son Voss Samson and his dog Erma, daughter Bret (Sasha) York, grandchild Luka and another on the way, dogs Mabelline and Eleanor, cats Komet and Cupid and sisters-in-law Pamela Jesse and Paula Hart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael Samson.

The family wants to extend a special thank you to the teams at Aurora Medical Center-Sheboygan and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

A celebration of life and benefit will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Turner Hall in Plymouth at 2 p.m.
