Spirit of Unity award presented to Morrissey

    The Bahá’í Faith Community of Cedarburg presented Spirit of Unity Awards to Patricia Morrissey of Port Washington and Annika Prickett of Cedarburg.
    The award is intended to recognize people and organizations that promote unity in the community by striving to eliminate the biases that separate people.
    Morrissey is being honored for her initiative and leadership in organizing the first interfaith observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in Ozaukee County.  
    Morrissey and Erica Turner who received the same award in 2018, organized a virtual event involving numerous community and religious groups.
    Prickett, who recently graduated from Cedarburg High School, is being honored for her work to revive and re-establish the Bridge Builders Club at Cedarburg High. The club promotes and celebrates diversity among students and staff at the school. The club has a community focus and sponsors activities that support and encourage broader understanding and mutual respect for each other.
