Spencer J. DuFour

Spencer J. DuFour, 78, of Belgium, died at Cedar Springs Nursing Home in Cedarburg Wednesday, Aug. 15.  

Mr. DuFour was born in Escanaba, Mich., on Oct. 25, 1939, to Joseph and Leola Kendall DuFour. 

The family moved to Milwaukee when Mr. DuFour was a child and he attended local schools, graduating from Custer High School in 1958.

On Aug. 12, 1961, he married Virginia Naparella in Princeton. The couple settled in Milwaukee and Mr. DuFour became an agent for American Family Insurance.  

The family moved to Port Washington in 1966, and to Belgium in 1997. 

During his youth, Mr. DuFour played basketball and softball. He was passionate about golf and enjoyed playing any course, but his favorite was Hawthorne Hills in the Town of Saukville. Mr. DuFour also enjoyed playing card games, especially cribbage, his family said.

Mr. DuFour is survived by his wife Virginia and son Randy, both of Belgium; grandchildren Ezra, Emma and Miranda DuFour; daughter-in-law Tammy DuFour of Kewaskum and former daughter-in-law Deb DuFour of Sheboygan Falls. 

He is further survived by his sister Sharon (Jerry) Adelmeyer of Waukesha and sisters-in-law Judy DuFour of Middleton and Kathy DuFour of Sheboygan.  

Mr. DuFour was preceded in death by his son Rick, brothers Bill and Tim, and parents Joseph and Leola.

Private family services were held.

Eernisse Funeral of Port Washington handled the arrangements.
