Shivlochanie Mangal

Shivlochanie Mangal of Saukville passed away peacefully on Feb. 27, 2023, in Hartford. She was 82 years old.

Born June 18, 1940, in British Guyana, Shivlochanie was united in marriage with Lutchman Mangal.

The couple immigrated to the United States in the 1990s and stayed briefly in New York before settling in Saukville.

Lutchman preceded Shivlochanie in death in 2010.

Mrs. Mangal worked as a caregiver in Port Washington prior to taking on the task of raising her grandchildren. Taking care of her family was very important to her, and Shivlochanie was very active in the upbringing of her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

She was a very spiritual woman and had a kind, easy-going way about her.

Shivlochanie is survived by four children, Nalenie Kumar of Saukville, Lalita Joseph, Sohan Mangal and  Nadira Mangal, all of New York.

She is further survived by two sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and a sister.

Per her wishes, a private family service will be held.
