Sharon Walsh

Sharon Ann Walsh, age 69, of Monona, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, at Agrace in Fitchburg.

She was born June 30, 1953, in Bethesda, Md., the daughter of Dr. Eugene and Jeanette Walsh.

Sharon graduated from Monona High School in 1971 and attended Cardinal Stritch University.

She worked in her father’s medical practice from an early age in numerous roles until he retired. Sharon then worked in many roles at the University of Wisconsin-Madison until she retired.

She devoted much of her time caring for her beloved father, Dr. Eugene Walsh.

To satisfy her love of being around people, she returned to part-time employment at Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse.

Sharon was a lifelong fan of any UW-Madison sports team, the UW Marching Band and the Green Bay Packers.

She was one of the kindest, warm-hearted and generous people one could hope to have as a friend, and she will be missed.

Sharon is survived by her father, Dr. Eugene Walsh; niece Anna Kenan; brother-in-law Dr. Dan Kenan; cousins Karen (Mike) Tiffany and Sandy Grady, who Sharon referred to as her sisters; numerous additional cousins including Msgr. Ray Kertz and Gerry Antoine; a very special Florida family, Chris and Alanna Guernon and their daughter Skylar, who Sharon affectionately considered a granddaughter; and so many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Jeanette Walsh; sister Dr. Kim Walsh; nephew Alexander Kenan; and uncle and aunts Dr. Lee (Mary) Walsh, Margie (Frank) Bley, Betty (Roger) Hubacek and Shirley (Jerry) DeBroux.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, with Father Chad Droessler and Msgr. Ray Kertz presiding. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon reception immediately following Mass in the church fellowship hall.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the Mass on Saturday at church.

Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Washington at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the UW Carbone Cancer Center, 600 Highland Ave., Madison, WI, 53792, or to Agrace HospiceCare Inc., 5363 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI, 53711.
