The Cedar Grove-Belgium School District was already set to get at least one new board member when Nancy Niebauer, board vice president the past several years who has the Ozaukee County seat, filed noncandidacy.

Now, Village of Belgium Trustee Sarah  Heisler has filed noncandidacy papers as well.

She is chairman of the Public Works Committee and a member of the Public Safety and Parks and Recreation committees.

Heisler has been on the board since 2020.

The other seat up for election on the School Board is the Sheboygan County seat held by Eric Meinnert.

Terms are for three years.

Aside from Heisler in the village, the seats of Chris Plier and Kevin Schueller are up for election.

Terms are for two years.

The deadline to file candidacy papers is Tuesday, Jan. 6.

If a primary election is required, it would be held Tuesday, Feb. 17. The general election is April 7.
