School receives $5,900 donation

Cedar Grove-Belgium High School recently received a donation of $5,900 in memory of Jean Vander Jagt, a 1938 graduate.

Supt. Jeanne Courneene told the School Board on March 14 that she had a “really cool conversation” with Vander Jagt’s daughter Virginia Jossi, who lives in Midland, Mich.

The donation is for any student pursuing post-high school education in nursing. It is up to the high school as to whether or not to give it out as a lump sum or divided up.

“That’s always exciting to hear,” Courneene said of the donation.
