The Cedar Grove-Belgium School District’s final tax levy for 2022-23 was the same as the projected one.

The board on Oct. 26 approved a tax levy of $5.291 million, a 1% increase from last year. Included is a general fund of nearly $3.5 million and a referendum debt service fund of $1.7 million.

The levy carries a tax rate of $7.03 per $1,000 equalized value, down from $7.79 last year.

That means the owner of a $250,000 home will pay $1,77.50 in school taxes, $190 less than last year’s $1,947.50.

State equalization aid is $6.6 million with per-pupil aid of $731,000.

Voucher school payments total $308,000. The district is gaining $582,000 through open enrollment and losing $986,000 for a $414,000 net loss.

District property values are $751 million. Values have increased by 25% over the last five years, Director of Business Services Tera Rogers said.
