Scam prevention is aim of Aug. 8 event

“Scam SINGO,” an event intended to help people, especially older adults, recognize common scams, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at Vineyard Church in Grafton.

The event features a bingo-style game that combines music and learning. Participants listen to popular songs and match them to scam-related clues on their SINGO cards, which represent different types of fraud, such as phishing, romance scams or fake IRS calls.

There is no fee, but those attending are asked to register in advance at www.vineyardchurch.co/events.

The church is at 1597 Hwy V.
