Saukville man faces felony drug charges after shooting threat
A 25-year-old Saukville man is facing felony drug charges after he allegedly threatened to shoot a man dating his ex-girlfriend.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Ozaukee County Circuit Court:
Matthew D. Viglia told a man he “had a bullet with your name on it” during an argument over the girlfriend at 1:38 a.m. Dec. 20 in a Saukville tavern.
After Saukville police and Ozaukee County Sheriff’s deputies arrived, Viglia fled the bar while officers interviewed witnesses. He was found hiding behind a residence.
Viglia refused to provide a breath sample and was taken to the Ozaukee County Jail, where a clear plastic bag containing a white powder was found in his wallet. The powder tested positive for cocaine.
According to court records, Viglia was charged in September with second-offense drunken driving and released on the condition that he maintain absolute sobriety and commit no other crimes.
In addition, he was convicted of possession of THC in 2013.
In the current case, Viglia is charged with second-offense possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and three misdemeanors — disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer and bail jumping.
If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to three years and three months behind bars and two years extended supervision.
Viglia posted $1,000 bail on Monday and was released on the condition that he maintain absolute sobriety, not enter a tavern and have no contact with the other man or his ex-girlfriend.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 19 for a status hearing.
