Saukville Legion honors veterans, including its own who have died, on their day

The Landt-Thiel American Legion Post in Saukville marked Veterans Day on Tuesday with its annual Post Everlasting Ceremony. Post Commander Denise Jamrozy read resolutions honoring Saukville Legion members who passed away during the last year, a copy of which was then burned by honor guard member Dave Wick and another given to the member’s family. Deceased members who were honored were Joseph Tippy, Norbert Kirsch and Ray Flaherty. The ceremony was followed by a rifle salute, a recording of taps played from a speaker in a bugle held by Jamrozy (below) and lunch at the clubhouse. The Legion also held a Veterans Day dinner.   Photos by Bill Schanen IV
