Saukville Historical Society to host county group Jan. 25
The Saukville Area Historical Society will host the Ozaukee County Historical Society co-op meeting at noon Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Crossroads Museum, 200 N. Mill St. in Saukville.
The featured speaker will be Jean Steinke, OCHS president, who will discuss “Downsizing Your Treasures.”
Steinke’s presentation will be followed by an opportunity to sample recipes from the “Tried and True Recipes” cookbook, which was published by the Port Washington Herald in the 1930s.
The SAHS also will announce the winner of its quilt raffle. Visitors will have one more opportunity to enter the raffle for the quilt, which was made by SAHS members as a fundraiser for the 15th annual Crossroads Rendezvous and was recently returned to the SAHS to raffle off again.
Funds raised will support the continued preservation of the 1912 firehouse and the organization’s archives.
For more information, contact Anne Kertscher, SAHS president, at 284-5170 or visit the SAHS website at www.SaukvilleHistory.org.
