Ruth Reas

Ruth Reas passed away unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 27, 2019. She was 90 years old.
Ruth was born in Port Washington, Wis., on Oct. 16, 1929, to Alvin and Ursula (nee Stainer) Thomas.
Ruth was united in marriage to Bill Reas on May 13, 1950, in Port Washington.
Ruth will be remembered for the grandma blankets she specially made for each of her grandchildren. She was an accomplished knitter, sewer and baker. She was also an avid reader and a Milwaukee Brewers fan.
Ruth was very dedicated to serving her church, Pilgrim United Church of Christ.
She was very proud of the fact that she spent one hour a day on her bike while watching “Wheel of Fortune.”
Ruth will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband Bill Reas; children Linda (Brian) Jensen, Rick (Melody) Reas, Mark (Rochelle) Reas, Judi (Rocco) Dougherty and Tammy Wagner; son-in-law Steve Deutsch; brother-in-law Jim Reas; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Deutsch and two grandsons, Rocco Daniel Dougherty and Peter Dougherty.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at 5 p.m. at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 1621 2nd Avenue, Grafton, Wis., 53024. Pastor Ashley Nolte will officiate.
Ruth’s family will receive visitors from 3 p.m. until the service at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
