Russell D. Marciniak Sr

Saukville resident Russell D. Marciniak Sr. died of heart failure on Tuesday, March 13, at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. He was 77.

Mr. Marciniak was a longtime purchasing manager at Modern Equipment Co. in Port Washington, who after retiring in 2001, worked as a consultant for Northwoods Manufacturing in Kingsford, Mich., until 2006.

He was born in West Allis on May 9, 1940, to Grace and Frank Marciniak.

When Mr. Marciniak was in middle school, he and his family moved to Waupaca. He moved to Saukville in the late 1960s.

On March 31, 1983, he married Linda Kultgen Bartelt in Las Vegas.

Mr. Marciniak enjoyed fishing on Sand Lake in Waupaca, gambling and playing cribbage. He was an avid baseball, football and NASCAR fan who attended games and races across the country.

He is survived by his wife Linda of Saukville; son Russ Marciniak Jr. of Indiana; stepson Rick (Kelly Meerdink) Bartelt and stepgrandchildren Taylor, Andrew and Ashton, all of Thiensville; grandson Zachary Klug of Thiensville; sister Dorothy (Harry) Jedlicka of Milwaukee; and brother Jerry (Rosemary) of Belgium.

Mr. Marciniak is further survived by brothers-in-law Robert (Cherie) of Merrill and Larry (Barb) of Cedar Grove.

He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Edward and Amanda, sister Winnifred, brothers Leonard, Richard and Robert and half-brothers Spencer and Edward Bichel.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.

The family has suggested memorials to the Washington County Humane Society.

Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg is handling the arrangements.
