Rockets’ soccer takes a needed break

Cedar Grove-Belgium High School’s girls’ soccer team beat visiting St. Mary’s Springs, 9-1, on May 26.

Gracie Schmidt had a career-high five goals, along with two assists. Arden Getschman had three goals and three assists.

Mara Getschman had two assists, and Natalie Bruggink and Mikayla Rowdon each had one.

The Rockets, down a fourth starter with a season-ending injury after Ava Peterson injured her knee against Grafton on May 22, canceled last Friday’s game against Division 3 top-ranked Kiel.

The Rockets host St. Thomas More on Thursday in the Division 3 playoffs. The winner likely plays at New Berlin Eisenhower on Saturday, June 6.
