Rocket wrestling to host Scramble Saturday

Cedar Grove-Belgium High School’s wrestling team is off to a hot start, and its home fans won’t have to travel far to see the Rockets in competition next.

The annual Rocket Scramble will be held Saturday, Jan. 3, at the high school.

The Rockets on Dec. 16 won at Oostburg, 53-13, and beat Plymouth, 67-12.

Josh Anzia, Vadim Misiura and Seth Kessen each earned two pins on the night. Vince Knowles, Landon Heimerman and Ben Duwell each pinned an Oostburg wrestler.

The Rockets on Dec. 13 won the 22-team Rebel Invite in Crandon with 230 points.

Nolan Anzia at 150 pounds, Kessen at 132, Seth Race at 175 and Carsen Voskuil at 138 each won his weight class.

On Dec. 11, the Rockets won at Sheboygan South, 62-17, and over Kewaskum, 42-36. Race won a 16-3 major decision and Syrus Anderson got a pin in 4:40 to seal the win over Kewaskum.

The Rockets on Dec. 6 won the 10-team Creek Invite at Johnson Creek with 332.5 points. Josh Anzia at 215 pounds, Chase Heimerman at 113, Knowles at 144, Misiura at 285, Race at 175 and Voskuil at 138 each won his weight class.
