Robert LaFlex

Robert LaFlex of Port Washington passed away on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at the age of 84.  

He was born in Freistadt (Mequon), the son of Peter and Sylvia LaFlex on Sept. 13, 1937.

He married Frieda Knab on March 17, 1960, in Munich, Germany, and together they had two daughters.

Bob graduated from Cedarburg High School, where he will be remembered as a star running back.

After high school, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He and his wife traveled abroad and indulged in many road trips throughout the United States as well.

Bob was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed long walks through local state parks and camping with his family. His creativity led him to his love of photography, often showing his work professionally.

In his later years, he was a prolific diamond dot painter and shared his projects with family and friends. Bob was an enthusiastic Green Bay Packer’s fan. The true joy of his life was spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his daughters Karmon (Tom) Schuh of Port Washington and Rochelle (Richard) Warrington of Keshena; grandchildren Melissa (Zyle) Newell, Theresa Warrington, Rachel Warrington, and Brandon (Loretta) Warrington; great-granddaughters Sydney and Stella; brother-in-law Kent Schneider; and special friend Gloria Schmidt. He is further survived by other relatives and his friends at Lincoln Village, where he resided.

He was preceded in death by his wife Frieda (1933-2008) and sisters Donetta (Edward) Mutz and Judith Schneider.

A visitation for Bob will be held Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, from 11 a.m. until noon at Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington location.  

Immediately following the visitation there will be full military honors in gratitude for his service to our country.

Bob’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Port Washington Aurora clinic and the ICU doctors and staff at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton for their support and care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Heart or Diabetes associations in Bob’s memory.
