Robert Aloysius Pfeffer

Robert Aloysius Pfeffer of Three Lakes, formerly of Port Washington, peacefully passed away on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, at the age of 81.

Bob lived a life characterized by dedication, thoughtfulness and care for others. Born in Waukesha, Wis., to Robert and Cora Pfeffer, he carried these qualities with him throughout his life and into a long and meaningful career in medicine.

He attended Catholic Memorial High School, Creighton University and Marquette Medical School, and completed his internship at Mary Hitchcock Hospital at Dartmouth.

Robert served in the U.S. Navy, stationed at Midway Island, before completing his family practice residency at Doctors Hospital in Seattle. He practiced medicine at the Bump Clinic in Rhinelander, later opening a private practice in Port Washington. In his later years, he served as an emergency room physician at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon, Wis.

Outside of medicine, Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, sailing, kayaking, following sports, playing the guitar and traveling the world.

He is survived by his wife Dianne; his children Amy (Tim) Greisch and Allison (Rob Newman) Schilling; his grandchildren Payton (Brad) Katzer, Sydney Leffingwell, Brynn Greisch, Hannah Schilling and Logan Schilling; and his great-grandchildren Zion Katzer, Nyzir Katzer, Otto Katzer and Porter Katzer.  He is further survived by his sister Mary Katzner, other relatives and many friends.

Robert will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a respected physician and veteran and a man whose compassion and steady presence touched many lives.
