Riveredge to host holiday activities
A wide variety of nature-based activities in November and December at Riveredge Nature Center in the Town of Saukville have been announced.
Handmade for the Holidays, gift-making sessions for youths, will be held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17 and 18.
The teen edition of the event, intended for those ages 12 to 18, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday while the children’s edition for youngsters ages 2 to 12 will run from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Those attending will move through several hands-on craft stations and use natural materials to create gifts for family and friends.
The activities range from woodworking and painting to stamping and stenciling, with teens taking on more advanced crafts than the grade schoolers.
All participants will go home with several completed crafts
The cost for children of Riveredge members is $10 and nonmembers is $15. Supervising adults may attend at no cost.

Holiday wreath making at the Wellspring Campus of Riveredge will run from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29.
Locally sourced natural materials will be used to craft wreaths made from a variety of fresh greens, including spruce, pine, cedar and juniper. Ribbon, evergreen cones and additional decorations will be available to personalize the wreaths.
Those attending will take home a 24-inch diameter wreath.
The session is intended for people ages 18 and older. The cost is $20 for Riveredge members and $25 for nonmembers.

Riveredge will hold Yule dinners and Yule log hunts Friday through Sunday, Dec. 1 to 3.
The dinner and hunt on Friday and Saturday, set for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., are for center members.
The 4 to 5:30 p.m. Yule log hunt on Sunday is for nonmembers. Participants will follow candlelit trails to find the log carved with a Y, bring it back with them and then warm up by a campfire with cocoa. Father Winter will also make an appearance to celebrate the winter solstice.
The cost for the members’ dinner and hunt is $25 for adults and $15 for children.
The cost for the Yule hunt is $7.

Riveredge is holding its winter camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 26 to 28, as well as an optional overnight indoor campout on Dec. 29.
Campers ages 6 to 12 will enjoy snowshoeing, ice fishing, building campfires, hiking, playing games, making crafts and other activities.
The fees for members is $175 and for nonmembers is $200.
