PAID OBITUARY

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 2, for Rita E. Arentz, nee VandeBoom, of Grafton, who was born to rest on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018.  She was 93.

Rita was born on July 28, 1925, to Norbert and Margaret VandeBoom.

She was a graduate of Port Washington High School.

On Feb. 12, 1947, Rita was united in marriage to Carl Arentz at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. He preceded her in death May 28, 2007.

After Rita’s youngest daughter entered grade school, she worked at Sprague Electric in Grafton for several years and then retired.

Rita enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, ceramics, baking, playing sheepshead, taking walks and, most importantly, spending time with her family. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling.

Rita was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters-St. Henrietta Council.

Rita is survived by eight children, Ruth Ann Hart, Jim (Carol) Arentz, Karen (Steve) Kaplan and Marlene (Mike) Donahue, all of Grafton, Diane (Joe) Barbieri of Hartford, Marilyn (Bob) Januchowski of Janesville, JoAnn (Rob) Stecker of Cedarburg and Janet (Rob) Wilde of Fredonia; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister Bernice Schueller and brother George (Frances) VandeBoom.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, Oct. 2. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton.

Interment was in the church cemetery.
