Richard C. Symes
Richard C. Symes, 91, of Wabeno, Wis., passed away on April 20, 2026.
Born Sept. 8, 1934, in Wabeno, Wis., Richard was raised in the community that shaped his hardworking, generous spirit. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before returning home to build a life defined by dedication, laughter and an unwavering willingness to help anyone who needed it.
Richard spent his career starting and selling his own business in the sausage casing industry, and upon retirement, he and his beloved wife Nancy realized a lifelong dream of building and moving into their dream home on Ada Lake in northern Wisconsin. There, he found his version of paradise: fixing things around the property, bowling with friends and, most importantly, spending time with the people he loved.
He is survived by his wife of many years Nancy and their three sons, David (Louise) of Muskego, John of Madison and Ken (Cathy) of Port Washington, along with four grandchildren, Tyler, Becca, Ainslie and William.
Richard was the kind of man who made every room a little warmer and every problem a little smaller. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
