PWHS basketball fundraiser rates a visit from a former star on the court

Jon McGlocklin, who became famous wearing a Milwaukee Bucks uniform, received a Port Pirates 6th man jersey when he stopped by Port Washington High School last month to accept a $1,100 donation to the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, or MACC, Fund from the school’s DECA business and marketing club. McGlocklin, who was a member of the 1971 world champion Bucks team, is co-founder and president of the organization. Members of DECA raised the money by designing and selling 6th man shirts for Port High fans to wear during basketball games. Posing with McGlocklin (center) in the Port High commons were (clockwise from McGlocklin) club member Avery Frankl, teacher Matt Esselmann, a survivor of childhood cancer who has worked with the MACC Fund, club members Ana Pyzyk, Ella Schmit and Roisin Doyle and Joe Dean, a Port Washington resident who is chief marketing officer for the MACC Fund.
