Dennis Dahm has one mobile home to remove for the Town of Belgium to remove its daily fine.
Town Chairman Tom Winker on Monday, who lives around the corner from Dahm’s property at 2046 Jay Rd., said he noticed three of the four mobile homes are gone.
“One is still standing there,” he said.
Zoning Administrator Charlie Parks said Dahm’s attorney Ed Ritger told him that Dahm had been in touch with Belgium Fire Chief Dan Birenbaum about burning down the mobile homes and having them hauled away.
Dahm had submitted a certified survey map to the town for approval to split his property, and Parks said, “Once that (last mobile home) is gone we’ll talk.”
The town has been fining Dahm $100 per day until the trailers are removed since mid-September. They are in violation of a town ordinance.
“As soon as that one is gone, the bleeding will stop,” Winker said. “We’re not the meanest guys in the world. As soon as that last one is gone, we can stop the fine.”
Parks said Dahm is waiting for the best conditions in which to burn the final mobile home and remove it.
Parks had said Dahm claims someone dropped three mobile homes on his property in the middle of the night and is suing the person in Sheboygan County Court for trespassing.
