Private school transportation payment changed
A change in the way it pays for private school transportation may save the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District more than $10,000 next year.
The district pays a per-student fee but next year plans to change to be in line with the state statute that allows paying per household.
While the number of private school students differs each year, the district could cut its costs in half.
“If the numbers don’t change, there will be 24 families. It will cut our costs from roughly $26,000 to $13,000,” Business Manager Tera Rogers said.
Rogers told the School Board this month she would notify St. John XXIII Catholic School in Port Washington and Oostburg Christian School of the change.
