Printmaker, fiber artist is Gallery 224 featured artist

Printmaking and fiber artist Tori Tasch is the featured artist for June at Gallery 224 in Port Washington.
The exhibit features artworks inspired by Tasch’s year at Schoofs Preserve in the Town of Erin as part of the ArtServancy program.
Her studio processes combine hand papermaking, printmaking and book arts techniques.     Tasch has been a mentor resident at RedLine Milwaukee for seven years and has taught at St. Bruno’s Parish School for 10 years.
In addition, she has been a resident artist at the Lynden Sculpture Garden, Studio 224 and OSUMA.
Tasch is currently state board president of Wisconsin Visual Artists and president of Milwaukee Area Teachers of Art.
Her sculptural books have been exhibited extensively throughout the US, in addition to Japan, Mexico and Canada, and her work is included in private collections at the Brooklyn Art Library, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the Saitama Art Museum.
She earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from Carroll College with additional studies at Columbia College Center for Book and Paper Arts.
Tasch will host a seed exchange and envelope-making workshop at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19, outside Gallery 224 at 303 N. Franklin St. in downtown Port Washington.
She will also take part in “Our Home is Their Home: Learning How to Help Monarch Butterflies” from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 31, at the Niederkorn Library, 316 W. Grand Ave.
During the event, run in cooperation with the Neighborhood Habitat Improvement Project, Tasch will make seed bombs to help people grow native plants that support monarch butterflies.
