Preparing to sweat to benefit vets

Ozaukee County’s ninth annual Sweat4Vets Post-to-Post Walk will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, as a group of walkers travel from the Peter Wollner American Legion Post Hall in Cedarburg to the Rose-Harms Legion Hall in Grafton. A lunch, refreshments, music and other activities will follow the walk, and there will be shuttle rides between the two Legion halls. Preparing for the event were (from left) Sandy Mack of the Cedarburg Legion Auxiliary, Ann Wissmueller and Angie Dedlow, both of the Grafton Auxiliary, Jennifer Schwab of Associated Bank, the premier sponsor of the event, Carolyn Halvorson of the Grafton Auxiliary, Maggie Geiger of the Cedarburg Auxiliary and Amy Luft of the Grafton Auxiliary. Funds raised during this year’s event will go to Camp American Legion in Lake Tomahawk. Early registration is underway through May 1, with walk packets available for pick up at the Grafton Post Hall from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 15. The registration fee is $35 until May 1,$40 after that date and $45 on the day of the event. Veterans may walk at no cost but must register in advance. To receive a free T-shirt, they must register by May 1. Children 12 and younger may walk for free but there is a $15 fee for a T-shirt.
