Port senior center gets grant for aging program

    The Port Washington Senior Center has received a $1,000 grant from the Greater Cedarburg Foundation to fund the center’s upcoming Aging Mastery Program.
    The center, received the grant through Friends of the Port Washington Senior Center, is one of eight area non-profit organizations to receive a grant from the foundation.
    The Aging Mastery Program is offered through a partnership of the Port Washington, Grafton and Cedarburg Senior Centers and is available to all members of these centers.
    The 10-course program provided by the National Council on Aging is designed to help seniors improve and manage their well-being, health, finances and community activity. The curriculum includes courses in aging basics, exercise, sleep, healthy eating, finances, medication management, life planning, healthy relationships, falls prevention and community engagement.
