Port native to speak at Women’s History brunch March 28
Sarah Haacke Byrd, a Port Washington High School graduate and CEO of Women Moving Millions for a Gender Equal World, will be the keynote speaker for the Saturday, March 28, Women’s History Month Brunch at Shulley’s in Thiensville.
The program, held by the League of Women Voters of Ozaukee and Washington counties, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.
In 2025, Haacke Byrd was named one of Time’s 100 Most Influential Philanthropists, honoring her transformative impact on gender equality and efforts to building a more connected and strategic funding ecosystem for the women’s rights movement.
Women Moving Millions supports initiatives ranging from health care equity to climate change, focusing on how these issues affect women and girls.
The brunch is $75. Registrations are due on Saturday, March 21. They may be sent to 334 S. Eva St., Port Washington, WI 53074.
Those registering should enclose a check made out to the League of Women Voters of Ozaukee and Washington counties and enclose their name, address, email and a preference for a vegetarian meal, if desired.
Those attending are encouraged to bring a full-size men or women’s deodorant or liquid hand soap for Family Promise in Port Washington.
