Port to host shop local event Saturday

Port Washington will host its annual Shop Hop event to help kick off the shopping season on Saturday, Nov. 29.

Nine downtown shops are participating in the event, meant to celebrate Small Business Saturday.

Each shop offers early shoppers a swag bag filled with a variety of foodies and coupons for Port businesses.

Some shops will also offer a second round of swag bags to shoppers later in the day.

Participating retailers are Purple Turtle Artisan Collective, Pear & Simple, Locally Inspired, Lillian Casuals, Eclectic Avenue, Candid Form Boutique, Halo Artisan Skin Care, Vines to Cellar Winery and Port’s Cozy Corner.

Many of the businesses also offer other specials to shoppers, such as drawings and special savings.

In addition, a number of downtown eateries also provide special offerings and savings for shoppers on Saturday.

They include Cavelier Wine Bar, Sir James Pub, DreamPort Harvest Market, Steerage Dining Saloon, Fork & Tap, LemonZello, Tello’s Grille & Cafe, The Spice and Tea Exchange and happenstance.

The promotion is intended to emphasize the importance of shopping local while enticing customers to seek out the unique goods that can be purchased at small businesses instead of larger big-box stores.
