Port Historical Society gala kicks off with online auction on Sept. 11

    The Port Washington Historical Society’s annual gala, which will be held online due to the coronavirus pandemic, kicks off this Friday.
    The gala, which follows the theme “An Historic Evening, An Historic Year,” begins with an online auction Friday, Sept. 11.
    The auction will close Friday, Sept. 18, with a 7 p.m. 30-minute virtual toast, celebration and reverse auction and paddle raise hosted by former Society President Jeff Morgan.
    Bidding will close at 7:45 p.m. Sept. 18.
    Beginning Sept. 11, people can log onto the website http://bidpal.net/pwhs2020gala  to register for the event and attend the celebration.
    Items are expected to be added each day.
    The menu on the left side of the screen can be used to navigate the site, as well as view and bid on auction items.
    Updated bidding information will be sent as a message to bidders’ phones or tablets.
    If bidders choose the “Buy Now” option, their credit cards will be charged immediately.
    Because the gala is the Society’s largest fundraiser of the year, donations are also being accepted between Sept. 11 and 20.
