Plans announced for next movie night, beer garden events

The next Fredonia Movie Night will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Fredonia Government Center.

That’s a change from the movie night originally planned for Saturday, Aug. 29.

“There’s not a whole lot going on in the village at that time” in October, whereas many families are on vacation or taking kids to college (in late August), said Trustee Dan Gehrke, chairman of the village Parks Committee, which is organizing the event.

In addition, the committee is planning another music night and beer garden for Saturday, Oct. 17, at Freedom Park.

Gehrke said the event would have a harvest theme.

Organizers are looking for a group to run the beer garden. 

The first movie night was June 27. The first music night and beer garden was held on July 18. Both events were well-attended.

The Fredonia Fire Department Association sponsored the inaugural beer garden.
