Pirates homecoming celebration is ‘Out of this World’

Port Washington High School students have elected their homecoming court and kicked off a spirited week of activities on Sunday, Sept. 23, with the powderpuff football tournament on Al Urness Field. Court members are (front row, from left) Joe Lerche, Erin Grisar, Summer Normile, Jojo Czarnecki, Aoife Doyle (middle row) Noah Reinders, Julia Greisch, Jane Kautz, Jill Cavanaugh, Shelby Paradowski, Aeden Egan, (back row) Ben Hughes, Skylar Shafer, Shane McConahy, Jake Markiewicz and Will Stopczynski. The “Out of this World”-themed celebration heats up Friday, Sept. 28, with the annual downtown parade at 4 p.m. followed by a tailgate party in the school courtyard. At 7 p.m., the Pirates varsity football team takes on West Bend East, with the homecoming king and queen announced at halftime. The events will culminate Saturday with a dance from 8 to 11 p.m. in the school gym. The court will be introduced at 9 p.m.                                Photo by Sam Arendt
