PHOTO OP-ED: Free trees for a greener world

Volunteers Sarah Stoll and 10-year-old Boden Jaszewski distributed trees Saturday at a tree giveaway event sponsored by the Lake Michigan Bird Observatory and the Niederkorn Library in Port Washington. Saplings from of a large variety of species were free to anyone who wanted to plant native trees. The selection included bur oak, swamp white oak and red oak, red maple, arrowhead viburnum, black chokecherry, American filbert, eastern redbud and American plum.    Photo by Sam Arendt
