Patricia Uselding

Patricia Uselding of Belgium was called to God on Saturday, March 18, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family at Rocky Knoll Nursing Home in Plymouth at the age of 80.

Pat was born Sept. 17, 1942, in Milwaukee, the second daughter of Herbert and Irene (Dehlinger) Wundrock.

As a child, her family moved to Grafton, where she graduated from high school in 1960. Following graduation, Pat attended Misericordia Nursing School for three years, graduating with her registered nurse degree.

On May 9, 1964, she married Richard Uselding of Belgium at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton.

She went back to Concordia College and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nursing in 1993, the same weekend as two of her daughters’ college graduations.

Pat worked as a nurse at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington while raising three daughters with her husband in Belgium. She was eventually the night supervisor nurse and moved with the hospital to its new facility, St Mary’s Ozaukee Hospital, in Mequon, where she worked until her retirement in 2007.

Pat was a wonderful nurse and was often called upon to take care of kids in the neighborhood.

She enjoyed spending her free time baking, reading, bird-watching, gardening and crafting. She was a very talented seamstress as well.

Pat was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in Lake Church, which eventually became Divine Savior Parish. Mrs. Uselding served as a server and sacristan, as well as the chair of the pastoral council. Pat even volunteered her time running the summer vacation Bible school after her retirement.

Her favorite pastime was watching her grandchildren’s activities.

Pat is survived by her loving husband Richard, daughters Kathy (Bill) Deheck, Anne Uselding and Mary (Mark) Navis and grandchildren Devon Van Aernum, Mariah Navis (fiance Matthew De Trana), Morgan Navis, Maycie Navis and Matthew Navis.

She is further survived by four siblings, Michael (Maggie) Wundrock, Bob (Emily) Wundrock, Christine (Rick) Ritzman and Mary (Wayne) Zdrojewski and brothers-in-laws Dick Hadler, Roger Uselding and Gary (Ellie) Uselding, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Judy Hadler, sister-in-law Mary Ann (Buddy) Baer and her nephew Chad Uselding.

Visitation will take place on Friday, March 24, at Divine Savior Parish, Holy Cross Chapel, 5330 County Hwy. B, Belgium, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Father Don Thimm will preside over the Mass.

She will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Please send memorials to Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary or the Bells of St. Mary’s in lieu of flowers.

Eernisse Funeral Home, Belgium, is honored to serve the Uselding family.
