Pastor Seth John Meeks

Seth John Meeks of Port Washington was born to Randy and Jeanne Meeks (nee Dillingham) on Nov. 8, 1980, in Morrison, Ill. He unexpectedly went home to be with Jesus at age 42 on Dec. 11, 2022.

  He married his childhood sweetheart, Anya Meeks (nee Panice), on June 30, 2001, and they have five children, Nate, Judah, Ezra, Sela and Willow Meeks.

He is survived by his grandmother Lois Scales (nee Meeks), his parents Randy and Jeanne Meeks and his siblings Aaron (Leah) Meeks, Nathan (Michelle) Meeks and Kathrine “Susie” (James) Gillen, along with all their children.  He is further survived by other relatives and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Cloyd Meeks and his grandmother Norma Gaumer. 

Seth served as associate pastor of youth and family for 11 years at Open Door Bible Church in Port Washington, Wis., before taking a camp leadership position at Fort Wilderness in Rhinelander, Wis.

Seth returned to Open Door in 2018 to begin his present role as associate pastor of adult discipleship.

Seth is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute (B.A. 2005). He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles and a simple time around a good wood-burning stove.

Seth will always be remembered for his devotion to his family, his church and, most importantly, his passion for pointing people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at 5 p.m. at Open Door Bible Church, 3420 Hwy. LL, Port Washington, Wis. Visitation will take place at the church on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 3 p.m. until the service.  

He will be laid to rest at Holden East Cemetery in Port Washington, Wis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, Ill., or Open Door Bible Church, Port Washington, Wis.
