Panel to discuss park rental fees

The Belgium Parks and Recreation Committee plans to discuss park shelter rules, the user agreement and events exempt from paying rental fees at its meeting on Thursday, Feb. 27.

Shelter rental fees are $75 per day for events of 150 people or less and $150 per day for those with more than 150 people. A $100 security deposit is required.

Using the refreshment stand costs $75 per day, and a $25 security deposit is required.

A list of more than 15 events, such as Belgium Area Chamber of Commerce-sponsored activities, Luxembourg Fest and sports tournaments, are exempt from the rental fees.

The committee will also discuss celebrating Arbor Day on Saturday, April 25, by planting a tree at Community Park and offering free tree saplings to residents.
