Pairing chili with music at Grafton High

Promoting music in schools by featuring student performances and serving a hearty lunch, the Grafton Music and Theater Boosters hosted its 55th annual Chili Day fundraiser at Grafton High School on Saturday, March 1. Volunteering to serve the food of the day were (clockwise from front) Crystal Greicar, Jen Rygg, Walter Schilling and Lisa Brennan. Among the many Grafton School District groups that performed were the high school’s a cappella ensemble Graftonics (top left). Sophia Pekarske (left) played a saxophone at the “instrument petting zoo,” which gave students the opportunity to try out different instruments. Proceeds from the event are used by the group to buy instruments and theater equipment and provide scholarships.     Photos by Sam Arendt
