Ozaukee voters pick Crowley on Democratic ticket

Ozaukee County voters on Tuesday went along with the state vote on the Republican candidate for governor, overwhelmingly choosing Tom Tiffany over challenger Andy Manske as their choice for the November ballot.

Tiffany received 9,413 votes, ( 97.8% of the ballots cast), while Manske received 208 votes, (1.2%).

On the Democratic side, county voters supported David Crowley, who won the statewide primary as well.

Crowley received 6,546 votes (45.2%), while challenger Francesca Hong received 4,839 votes (33.4%).

Rounding out the ballot were Kelda Roys with 1,096 votes(7.6%), Joel Brennan with 952 votes (6.6%), Sara Rodriguez with 564 votes, (3.9%), Mandela Barnes with 448 votes, (3.1%), and Missy Hughes with 27 votes (.2%).

Ozaukee County voters cast their ballots for David Varnam for lieutenant governor  with 4,545 votes, (54.2%), over Will Martin, who received 3,836 votes (45.7%), on the Republican side of the ballot.

Turnout Tuesday was steady, many polls reported, but only 37% of registered voters, or 24,569 of 65,728, cast ballots.

While the statewide race took much of the attention Tuesday, two candidates for county jobs were unopposed on the ballot.

Sheriff Christy Knowles received 8,626 votes in the Republican primary and Clerk of Courts Connie Mueller received 8,285 votes.
