Ozaukee ADRC to host Dementia Live event

The Ozaukee County Aging and Disability Resource Center will hold another Dementia Live event next week to help residents experience what it’s like to live with dementia.

Dementia Live outfits participants with ear phones, eye glasses and heavy gloves to help people know what it’s like to better understand and support someone living with cognitive changes.

Thirty-minute sessions will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Harbor Campus, 425 W. Walter St., Port Washington.

To reserve a time slot, call Maria at (262) 235-4701 or email mflorczak@capricommunities.com by Friday, Feb. 20.

Dementia Live is free.

The ADRC will also hold a Home Safety Presentation from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, at Aurora Grafton Hospital.

Information will be shared by Cindi Pichler of Independence First about technology options for maintaining a safe living environment for people living with dementia.

The presentation is free and open to the public. For more information, call Kim Olsen (262) 329-2561.
