Opening young eyes to the careers that await them

Children at Lincoln Elementary School in Port Washington have years until they need to decide what they want to do for a living, but it’s never too early to start thinking about jobs that might appeal to them, and that was the goal of Career Day. The event brought dozens of presenters representing professions that ranged from bankers and hair stylists to medical equipment engineers and heavy equipment operators to the school last month. Carpenter Adam Fransee taught Emersyn Jolly how to use an impact driver. Dylan Zimdars looked through a magnifying lens used by optometrist Kristopher Knous (behind him) to examine eyes. Felix Jensen worked on the engine of a model truck as Randy Simmons of Pitbull Towing looked on.
