Motorcycle club holds Halloween party

Days after receiving a conditional use permit to meet in the former bank at 775 Main St. in Belgium (bottom photo), the Iron Order Milwaukee Solid Kore Sinners (SKS) held its Halloween party in the building last Saturday night. One of the club’s leaders, Terry Horn (top photo), welcomed fellow members to the gathering. The group received its permit on Oct. 28 from the Village Board. The building is zoned B-1 for business but operating a club was a conditional use. SKS had been holding monthly meetings and occasional larger gatherings at the former bank for four years before Village Clerk Julie Lesar noticed the building wasn’t zoned for the activity. Residents expressed concerns about noise and the impact a motorcycle club would have on business development, but Horn said members just hang out, talk about motorcycles and raise money for charity. The Plan Commission granted the permit, 6-0. Photos by Sam Arendt
