Mel’s River Run is slated for May 16

Mel’s River Run will again take place on Saturday, May 16.

The event offers two routes for paddlers on the Milwaukee River that end at Veterans Park in Grafton.

A route from Waubedonia Park in Fredonia is intended for experienced paddlers. Expected to take three to four hours, it features small rapids.

A family-friendly route from Peninsula Park in Saukville is expected to take 1-1/2 hours.

At the finish, there will be food, music and drinks.

Life jackets are required for all participants.

The cost is $30 per person for the river run and a swag bag and $45 for the river run, swag bag and a food and drink package.
